The brief
SSH, a yacht brokerage in Athens, needed a complete image set for M/Y My Dream, a 49.9 m motor yacht built by Cantiere Italiano Ortona Navi in 2008, to market her for sale and for charter at the same time.
The brief covered everything: exteriors and interiors, running shots, aerials, lifestyle with models on board, and a film.
The shoot
There was one weekend to do it, in September 2014. Around Portofino, with models, a make-up artist and the crew on board, I worked from a chase boat, from a helicopter and with a drone, and also shot half-water images. A second session off Arenzano was kept for the twilight exteriors.
The hardest part was the timing: models, light, running passes and crew all had to line up, with no spare day to fall back on.
The result
I delivered 220 edited photographs and a film. SSH used them for the yacht’s sale and charter listings on the main yacht portals and in magazines.
My Dream was later sold and renamed Resilience. Today she sails as Zia.
