... Where I come from ...

Born in Milan in 1966, Genoese of adoption, of Mantuan industrial father and Milanese mother can boast origins dating back to ancient times. The Savelli family from my mother's side, in fact, traces the ancestry in Rome and exactly, as it is written in the family tree that my grandfather had drawn up, in 1216 by Pope Honorius III, Cencio Savelli, the 177th of the church and then again with Giacomo Savelli, Pope Honorius IV, the 190th, in 1285. Before that, some sources speak of four other Popes, Benedict II, Gregory I, Eugene I and Liberius in the 352 BCE. Some ancient documents would trace the ancestry of the Savelli to the Sabine King Aventino in 850 BCE, while others even to Aeneas after escaping from Troy. The family numbered nobles of different secular and religious ranks, leaders, senators, counts and bishops, it still exists Castel Savelli in Lazio and Savelli village in Calabria, which Princess Charlotte Savelli gave to some earthquake victims. During the subsequent period the Savelli's moved to Emilia Romagna, and  joined the Zoboli family in Reggio Emilia where Palazzo Zoboli in the center can still be admired today. The noble house lost title and properties as a result of gambling addiction by the Marquis Rodolfo. In the twentieth century the family joined to the Monicelli's: my great-uncle, in fact, was the famous film director Mario who died in 2010. Always a lover of art and antiques, I like to mix the classic taste to modern contaminations.
